Y谋ld谋z Technical University organized the 鈥淛uly 15 Epic鈥 program鈥攆eaturing a panel discussion, an exhibition, and heroic folk songs鈥攁s part of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day celebrations. Prof. Dr. Erhan Afyoncu, Rector of the National Defense University, who participated in the program, stated, 鈥淭his uprising was part of FET脰鈥檚 plan to occupy and fragment Turkey.鈥
The "BBGNight-TR" project, coordinated by Y谋ld谋z Technical University, has been awarded funding under the European Union鈥檚 Horizon Europe Program. The 24-month project, to be carried out in partnership with Istanbul Technical University, Gazi University, and the Ministry of National Education, aims to bring science and society together in the fields of climate change, health, and digital transformation.
Prof. Dr. Marek Pawe艂czyk, Rector of the Silesian University of Technology鈥攐ne of Poland鈥檚 leading institutions of higher education鈥攙isited our university. The visit, which marked a new phase of the strategic partnership initiated at the 1st Turkey-Poland Rectors鈥 Forum, the visit marked a new phase in the strategic partnership. Discussions focused on European Union joint projects, student and faculty exchanges, joint degree programs, and academic collaborations planned to be implemented initially among six faculties.
We graduated more than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students during the ceremonies we held at the YT脺 Davutpa艧a Campus from July 6 to 10, 2026. More than 22,000 family members and friends of our students shared in the excitement of the ceremonies, during which our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ey眉p Debik, presented plaques to the top three students in each department.
Our YT脺 Rector, Prof. Dr. Ey眉p Debik, visited all faculties and departments to discuss the 鈥淭op 100鈥 goal, the vision for internationalization, support for projects and publications, and university-industry collaboration with our deans, department chairs, and faculty members. During these visits, which focused on gathering feedback and suggestions, collective wisdom, a culture of productivity, and institutional support mechanisms emerged as key elements for YT脺 to advance more strongly toward its future goals.
Approximately 250 researchers gathered at a workshop organized by Y谋ld谋z Technical University for the TUB BAP Collaboration Projects, which were launched under the umbrella of the Union of Technical Universities (TUB). During sessions held across 12 thematic areas, the first steps were taken toward establishing new collaborations for the development of joint R&D projects.
The first Mini MBA Program, organized under the cooperation protocol signed between YT脺 and ASKON, has been completed. Certificates were presented to the business leaders who participated in the training sessions organized by the YT脺 Center for Continuing Education, Application, and Research by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ey眉p Debik, and ASKON President Orhan Ayd谋n.
The Y谋ld谋z Technical University Lagari UAV Team successfully represented our university and Turkey at the IMechE UAS Challenge 2026, held in the United Kingdom, with their unmanned aerial vehicle named SEBAT. At the end of the grueling four-day competition, the Y谋ld谋z team was honored with the prestigious 鈥淪crutineering Award鈥 for excellence in design and technical inspection.

Y谋ld谋z Technical University showcased its Hydrodynamics Laboratory鈥攚hich is of critical importance to the maritime and defense industries鈥攖o industry representatives. During the launch event, one of Turkey鈥檚 first free-running experiment demonstrations was tested.
The 鈥淵T脺 Hydrodynamics Laboratory Introduction and Experiment Demonstration鈥 event, organized by Y谋ld谋z Technical University鈥檚 Faculty of Shipbuilding and Maritime Sciences, was held at the YT脺 Davutpa艧a Campus.
