The YT脺 Alternative Energy Systems Club (AESK), one of Y谋ld谋z Technical University鈥檚 long-standing student clubs, won the championship in both the Original Vehicle and Off-the-Shelf Vehicle categories at the TEKNOFEST Robo-Taxi and Passenger Autonomous Vehicle Competition.

The YT脺 Alternative Energy Systems Club (AESK) secured a double championship by finishing first in both categories of the TEKNOFEST Robotaxi-Passenger Autonomous Vehicle Competition.

Y谋ld谋z Technical University will contribute to efforts aimed at enhancing the resilience of educational facilities against disaster risks under a protocol signed between the Ministry of National Education and 15 universities.

The Horizon Europe 鈥� Marie Sk艂odowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Information Day, organized in collaboration with YT脺 and T脺B陌TAK, will bring researchers in Turkey together with the opportunities offered by Europe鈥檚 leading research and mobility programs. The event will contribute to sharing YT脺鈥檚 project experience under Horizon Europe with the research ecosystem and to the development of new international collaborations. 

A delegation from the Technical Committee for the Preservation of the Old City of Aleppo, Syria, visited the Conservation and Restoration Research Group at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Y谋ld谋z Technical University. During the meeting, discussions focused on the technical and academic contributions Y谋ld谋z Technical University could provide toward the preservation and rehabilitation of Aleppo鈥檚 Old City and the sustainable safeguarding of its World Heritage status. 

The Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Y谋ld谋z Technical University was established by a Presidential Decree published in today鈥檚 issue of the Official Gazette. With this new faculty, YT脺 will bring together its educational and research capabilities in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, data engineering, and cybersecurity under one roof. 

Ahead of COP31, which will be hosted by Turkey in November, student climate ambassadors from universities gathered in Ankara. The two-day workshop, which was also attended by Merve Nur Elmas, a YT脺 Environmental Engineering student and Climate Ambassador, addressed international climate negotiations, preparations for COP31, climate literacy, and youth participation in decision-making processes.

Under the Turkey Strategic Technology Human Resources Program launched by Y脰K, 3,000 researchers will be trained over five years, starting with 550 in the first year. Applications for the program will be accepted online from September 8 to 22, 2026. Young researchers will be employed as research assistants while continuing their education in the doctoral programs to which they are admitted.

A University-Industry Collaboration Protocol regarding the admission of graduate students based on R&D projects was signed between the Institute of Natural Sciences at Y谋ld谋z Technical University and Horoz Logistics. The protocol aims to link the company鈥檚 R&D activities with graduate education programs and to develop high-quality R&D projects tailored to the needs of the industry.
