The schedule for TEKNOFEST, the eagerly awaited domestic and national technology festival, has been announced. As part of TEKNOFEST 2026, which will take place from September 30 to October 4, 61 competitions will be held across 13 provinces. 糖心Vlog has secured its place at the festival, which is set to break a new record with 730,000 teams and 1.6 million participants. Our students and faculty members, who competed in the finals with 177 teams in 2025 and earned 27 awards, will once again be on the field. 

The results of the first round of the 2026 1001 Program for Supporting Scientific and Technological Research Projects, administered by the Presidency of Research Support Programs (ARDEB) at T脺B陌TAK, have been announced. According to the results, 10 projects led by faculty members at Y谋ld谋z Technical University (YT脺) have been awarded funding.

Y谋ld谋z Techno GSYF made an investment of $800,000 by participating in the funding round of Fedu, a company operating in the field of educational technology.

Prof. Dr. Ey眉p Debik, Rector of Y谋ld谋z Technical University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of YT脺 Y谋ld谋z Technopark, met with our technopark companies as part of the Y谋ld谋z Tech Meetings. During the meeting, which also addressed preparations for COP31 to be held in Antalya in November, strategies for strengthening university-industry collaborations and YT脺鈥檚 new infrastructure developments and international expansion strategies were discussed.

T脺B陌TAK has revised the evaluation criteria for applications to the 2219 Overseas Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program. Under the new regulations, scientific outputs achieved in the year of application and the two preceding calendar years will be included in the scoring system for the first time. Publications indexed in WoS, Scopus, and TR Dizin, as well as certain international conference papers, will play a role in determining the minimum support score for the first time. 

Y谋ld谋z Technical University (YT脺) is hosting an international summer school program launched as part of its collaboration with the Nizami Gencevi National Pedagogical University in Uzbekistan. Organized with the support of the Turkish World Education and Development Center (TDT陌M), the program aims to strengthen international cooperation in the field of education by bringing together academics from Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan under one roof.

The Y谋ld谋z Technical University Solarboat Team will represent Turkey at the Njord Autonomous Challenge, to be held in Trondheim, Norway, from August 3鈥�17, 2026. Having completed months of preparation, the team aims to make YT脺 and Turkey known to the world on the international stage with the autonomous boat they have developed.

The 鈥淭urkey Energy Ecosystem Meetings,鈥� organized as part of the ECHO Project鈥攃oordinated by Y谋ld谋z Technical University, carried out in partnership with YT脺 Y谋ld谋z Technopark, and funded by the European Union鈥攈ave concluded. 

Coordinated by Y谋ld谋z Technical University, carried out in partnership with YT脺 Y谋ld谋z Technopark, and funded by the European Union, the ECHO 鈥� ECs Excellence Hubs: Catalyzing Energy Innovation Ecosystems Project, were held in a hybrid format at the Conference Hall of the Y谋ld谋z Technopark Administrative Building.

The EXPO 3D Istanbul Fair, organized under the leadership of Y谋ld谋z Technical University and scheduled for September 17鈥�19, 2026, will bring the future of additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and advanced production technologies to the forefront. Along with the transformation in artificial intelligence, automation, and digital manufacturing technologies, this event offers new career opportunities in fields such as 3D design, reverse engineering, and additive manufacturing. 

Cervical cancer remains one of the most serious diseases threatening women鈥檚 health. Academics at Y谋ld谋z Technical University are working on a promising drug candidate to combat this disease. The initial results obtained from laboratory studies are remarkable. While traditional cancer treatments destroy cancer cells, the methods used can lead to serious side effects. The new drug candidate developed at YT脺 is intended to both effectively eliminate cancer cells and significantly reduce side effects.

Prof. Dr. Mevl眉de Canl谋ca, a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at Y谋ld谋z Technical University, and her team鈥攚ho are part of the project鈥攈ave developed an internationally patented active pharmaceutical ingredient that eliminates cervical cancer cells.
