A competition similar to the CanSat satellite model competition, annually taking place in Texas and organized by the American Astronautical Society (AAS) and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), was organized by Turksat for the first time.
At the Satellite Model Competition which took place amongst undergraduate and graduate students and was held between September 2-4th, the team 鈥淚QRASAT鈥, the members of which are the students from Y谋ld谋z Technical University won the competition.
At the end of the competition, which provided undergraduate and graduate students of engineering departments an opportunity to apply their theoretic knowledge into a skill, members of the first placing team, IQRASAT received a gift card valued at 2,000 TL.
T眉rksat鈥檚 CEO, Cenk 艦en and other senior executives, along with personnel attended the model competition.
After the competition, a tour of the Lagari Hasan 脟elebi Museum located at T眉rksat鈥檚 Main Campus in G枚lba艧谋 was organized where questions regarding the conditions of space, satellite design and satellite operations were answered. All the participants were given a certificate showing their participation and a T眉rksat gift set.
The students of the winnning team expressed their intentions of concentrating on sattelites as well as hydrogen-powered and electric cars and making breakthroughs in this area.
