We confuse learning with memorization
At a workshop on the theme of “LԾԲ,” organized in collaboration between the Faculty of Education at Istanbul Aydın University and the Center for Research and Application on Social Issues (TARMER), academics from various universities across Turkey discussed the fundamental problems of the education system and the phenomenon of learning from a multifaceted perspective.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat İnce from Yıldız Technical University stated, “Learning is not merely acquiring knowledge, but being able to relate to that knowledge and apply it. Today, students learn a great many formulas but struggle to connect them to real-life situations.”
